The Facts are In ( The last man Standing)

The Last Man standing

            I have watched my brothers walk out their life and when I try to reason with them, I find some differences between myself and them.   I often wonder why!    Well! There are so many variables, so much in the way that I was brought up to be.   I held on to the distinct foundations that makes me, me!   I had a father who had not been the center of my life, and I found out that he had not been taught to be what I expected him to be; I was taught to love him and adore him and see him for the man that he tried to be.   I dearly love my father and I now know that he in turn loved me.        I pursued my father, I also pursued fatherhood, and it was just one of my family treats. I was taught the position is an honorable one; one to be held in high esteem and sometimes even if you are not one, it should be one to be held high in every man’s life.      I grew up with certain people as the shining examples in my life, men who paved the path for my nurturing and understanding to become a man (Good man).

            So what do I mean the last man standing? Well it has to do with what people find most lasting in a man’s character that carries over in the minds of people; as a memorable component of real men that this world has to offer.        What is it that we as men on a whole can do or become; that would change the mind set of how we are perceived to be, by most women and other people in general?        I am not saying that this is the consensus of all people, but there are a growing number of voices in our society, expressing concern of the way we conduct ourselves as men.          I think it is time to have a revolutionized shift, in favor of those men who live clean and up right lives.  We are here standing in the crowd!  We are amongst the living and we should be heard.

I find it is the nature of good men to just keep on doing the right thing; and it does not matter what people think of us or what they say!  This is the type of man that is still here and can be found within our society and we stroll right here beside you.   We protect you, we serve you, and we also love you and we ask for nothing in return.    Sadly we (good men) have been getting bundled with those men, who are less than perfect, and who has spoiled our good names by the way they have treated this world wrongfully.  Our rewards for the kind of people we are, is wrapped up in a peace that we get, and an understanding that comes over us when we do things right.       It is a satisfaction that you can’t see or even hold.

Our satisfaction is a mechanism that we are built with and we have a fashioned foundation that was given to us, from our mothers and fathers and the people in our lives.   People who did not settle on just saying no to this plague that taunts society , or settled in just teaching right and wrong but they were people who gave structure and meaning to our lives, to live with a higher sense of love that extends outside ourselves and a sense of caring for humanity.   A spiritual flavor that takes us to a higher call of life; these are just a sample of the qualities of what that is in these men (Good Men) I call them the last men standing.           I now call on other men, to be bold enough to see what they need to become, to aid this lost and dieing world; and set themselves on a course to become something better every day and not just stay an average person their entire lives.

We need to be more than just surface people

The breaking of bread- the responsibility of being a friend

            When we befriend others we should take this as a large step, a great responsibility in life, I find that we have come to a place in life in today’s society, that are not caring or they don’t know how to give their word and hold ourselves to that word.       Knowing this, I have observed that in our society today this is so common place that there is neglect to love or even more to forge true friendship or better yet have good loving relationships.    The act of covenant is one that holds great meaning back in our past; today it has lost its value, it may no longer be trusted when someone gives his word anymore! Yes the world has changed and our young people want to seek the truth but are unable to find it. We have told so many lies that we don’t know what to believe, is there a Santa? No, the Easter another lie, and the list goes on and all that these things are! Is a way to steal good people’s finances and leave them broke and children disappointed!

            Where there was truth and respect there is none, where we could listen to the words of another man and see his true intention, we are reverted to not believe a word that another man says; we now have come to accepting the words “seeing is believing”!        I frequently ask myself; “what would it take for us to have some integrity in our words again”?  And I am left stumped beyond belief; I have no Idea how to turn back the hands of time! I sit just like most of us who have seen the times when my credit was based on the words I gave, it is far from those days and you would have to give the souls of your children as collateral. This child has to be a virgin no doubt.

            So now that we have spoken about the dreaded direction in which this world is going we have a choice, to open good wholesome friendships and raise within and throughout valuable relationships that will last. Here is a poem that expresses something that will help to give some insight into people.

Deep Convictions

This always happens when I am by myself,
I think of all the people God has had me help.

My heart was always pounding, afraid to stand and fight,
Then I seemed to have settled, and then I knew that I would be alright.

The words I thought were already sitting on my lips,
But when I tried to loose them, the Holy Ghost caught grip.

I took off like if a mad man, for sin! I do not like,
The sinner!
I would not reject him I pray for him at night.

My heart is filled with Jesus I am convicted still,
I pray all day for opportunities, Just to do God’s will.

I see other saints around me; their life may not be as keen,
Paul says “don’t use my lips too loosely, but pray that they; will knowledge gain!

It is an individual’s deep commitment that will help men sustain from sin,
But it is their deep conviction that makes the change within.

Just a lazy Day

The truth is i am thinking of some people that do, men and women who will insist to give of themselves everyday no matter ho w hard it can get for them.   It seems as if they were angels who God placed to keep us thinking about ourselves, that each one of us can be better day by day.      I wrote this poem as an expression of that which I saw in a lady that I know.

You have wings why don’t you fly?

I have watched you push yourself day and night,
To feed your children a Godly meal;
I have watched the glow of Jesus in your eyes,
And the Joy when you sing in the choir!

You ware your heart on the outside of your chest and everyone knows it,
Your life is an open book, dedicated to God on the highest;
I have seen your deepest love for others, streaming straight from above!
So why, Why not fly to the sky? I have seen your wings.

Don’t deny!

You pray to God at least three times a day,
God is your husband, and late at night;
He comes and tucks you in, and watches over you till the break of day!
An Angel I know.

You are not as complicated as some may think,
With a pure heart like that, I know the God’s spirit fills you to the brink;
I really an answer now! My dear is there good reason why?
You have wings so why don’t you just fly?

Time in a bottle

Time in a bottle:
                            This is about me, and sometimes how you can hold back the very thing that could have saved your life; that could help your efforts.  Well I can learn from my own actions, ones that have brought me grief before and ones that make no sense at all, now thinking of it.  It is true that feeling should be expressed but when? and how so that you get the desired effect.

            Now I call this piece "Time in a bottle" because it almost seem as if I have not moved from where I was years ago when I first fell in love; the man I was then was one who cared about everyone and everything.   Well why can't you? I have love inside enough for the world to smile at least once all at the same time (that is a lot of love but it burns out in such a short while ) so why even try to do it? why even try to care? someone will find something wrong with it and cry foul.   The sad thing it may be someone you really care for, in the end you are left standing looking foolish and heart broken; stomach tied up in knots just waiting to die from an ulcer.
         So why don't you just move on? why are you the one person who fights and begs for the door to be left open? why do you think you care more than everyone?  why do you hold other people much more dearly than yourself? and why Guy are you thinking the best of other people even when they think the worst of you? . . . .  You must be a sadist! one who enjoys to been burned; well I am not all of the above.  I just believe that there is good within people even if I am looked at as if I am not I will always keep love in my heart and I have no enemies they are loved.  And if that causes me to fall then so be it but I maintain integrity and I have a soul that knows where I am going and my lips will speak truth always.
Ps: mankind you are loved even you if you may not love me.

A poem I wrote for someone special there is a key in there, and it unlocks the most valued gift I own.  :-)

Time between you and me

It is more than time that brews when I don’t hear from you.
It’s the earth that shakes, and my little world that breaks.
I turn to write and there you are,
I am at the receiving end of a hole in my heart so I dare not pretend.

I never really knew that this was all because of you,
But it could mot be, this is insanity!
Truth is I really have not lived,
Just been on this last part of life’s decay!

A promise from God to me for a life filled, and totally free;
Then you came along, you seemed to be singing the last words to my song.
Just at the time when I was just giving up,
Your life filled my cup!

I found purpose to breath, the perfect peace and ease;
The distance is a test of our souls!
Two themes entangled collaborating to make a phrase,
Two stories telling a great tale and the product a great book.

I have seen many seeds planted and the tree produce no fruit,
But if visions were given to men then one was given to me!
I saw us two inspired to fly and this world be free,
A note to all that follow, the crumbs are there to lead you back home to the sea.

A place that you and I found at different times that was soothing,
And calming and brought peace to you and also to me.
The thing that separates us and can be so frustrating,
Is the distance and a small bit of time between you and me.
